• Under the Prior Approval scheme:
  • Up to 8 metres for detached homes
  • Up to 6 metres for semi‑detached or terraced homes
• Maximum overall height: 4 metres
• The extension must not cover more than 50% of the land surrounding the original house

It’s important to note that Permitted Development rights do not apply to flats, maisonettes, listed buildings, or certain properties in conservation or designated areas. Every property is different, so professional advice should always be sought before proceeding.
