New Windows in Penrith
OUR WINDOWS ARE EXPERTLY CRAFTED TO BOTH IMPRESS VISUALLY AND ENDURE OVER TIME
Replacing your windows can bring about numerous benefits for your home. From improving energy efficiency and enhancing kerb appeal to increasing comfort and reducing noise, this upgrade can have a significant impact on both the aesthetics and functionality of your living space.
Older windows are often poorly insulated and allow draughts to enter your home, leading to energy loss and higher utility bills. By installing new, energy-efficient windows, you can effectively seal your home, preventing air leakage and reducing heat transfer. This means that your heating and cooling systems can operate more efficiently, resulting in lower energy consumption and cost savings over time.
Replacing your windows can also enhance the overall appearance of your home. Windows play a crucial role in defining the architectural style and character of a house. By selecting windows that complement the design and aesthetics of your home, you can significantly improve its kerb appeal. Whether you prefer traditional, classic windows or sleek, modern designs, there is a wide range of options available to suit your preferences and elevate the visual appeal of your property.
If you live in a noisy neighbourhood or near a busy road, old windows may not provide adequate sound insulation. Sound-reducing features on new windows can create a quieter and more peaceful living environment. Improved noise reduction can be particularly beneficial for bedrooms, home offices, or any space where tranquillity and concentration are desired.
When selecting a window style, it’s important to consider factors such as your home’s architectural style, the amount of natural light desired, the intended functionality of the window, and your personal taste. Contact us at Lancashire Double Glazing to find out more.
New Doors
WE OFFER A VARIETY OF DOOR OPTIONS, INCLUDING: UPVC AND COMPOSITE FOR FRONT, BACK, PATIO, BI-FOLD, OR FRENCH DOORS
Upgrading to a new door comes with many benefits, including the possibility of better energy efficiency. Outdated doors tend to lack proper insulation, leading to heat escaping in the winter and entering in the summer. This not only results in discomfort but also increases energy costs. Contemporary exterior doors are crafted to provide top quality thermal insulation. They are made with cutting-edge materials and insulation techniques, effectively blocking heat transfer and keeping your home at a pleasant temperature all year round. By minimising heat loss, a new front door, patio doors or an impressive new bi-fold door, can lower your energy usage and cut down on heating and cooling bills.
Homeowners prioritise security and find peace of mind by installing new front and back doors. With the help of technological advancements, modern front doors come with robust locking systems and extra security features like multipoint locking mechanisms and reinforced frames. These enhancements make it significantly harder for potential intruders to break into your home. By choosing a top quality front or back door, or even French and patio doors, you can ensure the safety of your home.
Doors can now incorporate elements such as spyholes, surveillance cameras, and intelligent locks, enabling you to remotely supervise and manage entry to your residence. These intelligent security characteristics provide convenience and extra protection, granting you full authority over who gains access to your home.
Installing energy-efficient front doors can not only reduce energy consumption but also contribute to environmental sustainability. By decreasing your carbon footprint, you can make a positive impact on the environment. Think about durability, maintenance, energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics when selecting the ideal material for your new front door.
Conservatories in Penrith
RANGES AVAILABLE FOR UPVC CONSERVATORY AND ORANGERY ROOF SYSTEMS
A conservatory provides both function and visual appeal by expanding your home’s living space. This versatile addition can serve many purposes and offers significant value for families. Whether you need more room for a growing family or simply want extra space, a conservatory is an excellent option. One of the greatest benefits is the abundant natural light that streams in through expansive windows, creating a sun-filled oasis perfect for relaxing. Even on cloudy days, the natural light permeating the glass, brightens the interior. The openness of a conservatory provides a rejuvenating space for the whole family to enjoy.
Having a conservatory allows you to design a room tailored to your lifestyle. It can become a home office, spacious dining area, or cosy sunroom for relaxation. Blending indoor and outdoor spaces, a conservatory seamlessly connects your home to the garden, making those summer evenings more enjoyable.
A conservatory’s beautiful design brings more than just aesthetic appeal – it can also boost your home’s value. The extra living space and sunlight from a conservatory make your property more attractive to buyers, who often view it as a bonus feature. By making your home stand out, a well-designed conservatory can help it sell faster and for a higher price. Also, by adding a warm roof from Lancashire Double Glazing, your conservatory doesn’t need to be a seasonal room. It can be used all year round without feeling the outdoor weather indoors!
Warm Roof
WARM ROOF SYSTEMS
With its glass or polycarbonate roof, a traditional conservatory can become uncomfortably hot in summer and chilly in winter, rendering it unusable during extreme temperatures. By installing a well-insulated warm roof, you can transform your conservatory into a comfortable, energy-efficient space that remains functional year-round. This smart design eliminates issues of overheating and draughts, providing stable, enjoyable temperatures that make your conservatory a liveable addition to your home. This allows you to fully enjoy your conservatory no matter how cold or hot it is outside. A warm roof also effectively prevents condensation, lowering the risk of dampness and mould growth. A warm roof greatly enhances the energy efficiency of your conservatory by providing excellent insulation. It traps heat in winter and keeps the area cool in summer, resulting in lower energy costs and a reduced carbon footprint. With a warm roof, you can enjoy a cosy conservatory without worrying about your expenses or environmental impact.
Enjoy year-round comfort in your conservatory with a warm roof that maintains steady, pleasant temperatures regardless of the weather outside. This comfortable sanctuary becomes the perfect spot to unwind, host family and friends, or pursue your favourite hobbies, free from the temperatures outside.
A warm roof not only regulates temperature, but also insulates against outside noise, creating a peaceful oasis in your conservatory. You won’t be subjected to traffic noise, or the sounds of a busy neighbourhood, a warm roof provides a quiet space for relaxing with a book, a family meal, or just taking a respite, no matter the season.
Extensions in Penrith
CREATE THAT DREAM LIVING SPACE IN YOUR HOME
Home extensions can be appealing investments because they allow homeowners to gain more space without the hassle and expense of moving. Expanding your current home lets you customise and enlarge it to suit your needs and style, whether that’s a spacious kitchen, comfortable home office, or extra living area. With an extension, you can design the ideal layout and incorporate trendy finishes that reflect your personality, all while staying in a neighbourhood you know and love.
When designing and enhancing a home extension, careful planning and thoughtful consideration are crucial to ensure the addition seamlessly blends with your existing home while meeting your needs and enhancing your lifestyle. Key factors to consider include how the extension affects natural light flow, complements your home’s aesthetics, incorporates any required accessibility features or energy efficiency elements, and creates a harmonious connection to your home. A well-designed extension can improve the flow and functionality of your home. You can address any existing layout issues or limitations, ensuring that every inch of your property is optimised for your comfort and convenience.
Home extensions come in many shapes and sizes to accommodate different needs and preferences. A rear extension extends the existing back portion of a home, providing more living area, a larger kitchen or dining space, or an extra family room. These versatile rear additions can serve many functions. Side extensions lengthen the home’s sides, usually on the ground floor, to add living space, bedrooms, utility rooms, or a separate entrance or garage. Wraparound extensions combine rear and side extensions, allowing for multi-level rooms or multiple new rooms like bedrooms, bathrooms, or a home gym. Loft conversions offer a cost-effective way to maximise existing space without altering the home’s footprint, transforming lofts into extra bedrooms, home offices, or playrooms.
Beautiful Orangeries
BESPOKE ORANGERIES
With their distinctive architectural elements, orangeries bring an air of refined allure that cannot be duplicated by any other home extension. Featuring decorative columns, lantern roofs, and intricate embellishments, orangeries emanate a timeless grace and sophistication beyond mere functionality. Custom-designed orangeries can harmoniously integrate with both traditional and contemporary properties, resulting in unified, visually captivating spaces.
The large windows and glass panels of an orangery flood the space with natural light, creating a bright and airy environment that enhances the aesthetic appeal. An orangery’s seamless connection to the outdoors also allows homeowners to enjoy panoramic garden views. Abundant natural light provides numerous health benefits as well, boosting your mood, productivity, and regulating sleep patterns.
An orangery is a truly versatile addition to any home. Not only can it serve as a delightful dining room, offering a unique and refreshing ambiance, but it also lends itself perfectly to being a tranquil home office. Its open and spacious design allows for flexible furniture arrangements, ensuring that the room can easily adapt to your changing needs. Picture yourself transforming the orangery into a vibrant entertainment space, where friends and family gather for joyful celebrations, or perhaps even as a yoga studio where you can find solace and inner peace. The possibilities are endless, allowing you to create a space that perfectly complements your family’s lifestyle.
An orangery is more than just extra living space – it’s a savvy investment that can increase your home’s value. These stylish additions attract buyers, distinguishing your property in the market. With flexible space for multiple uses, an orangery makes your home more appealing to prospective purchasers.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS
The salesman Kevin was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Also, As opposed to the many door/window sales that come knocking, it was very nice to walk round their showroom to see and feel the different window options (and ask lots of questions) rather than making a decision from a brochure.
Will defo use them again for future window fits.
Would highly recommend
Now im selling my house I realised I never received Fensa certificates, chased them. At first they said one lot hadnt been registered but it would be and I would receive the certificate shortly now they were registering it. When I said I didn't get a certificate for the other job they said I would have to buy one directly from Fensa, when I tried it turned out they hadn't registered that job either, why they claimed they had I dont know but it added a week on the hold up of getting a new EPC as I waited for them both.
Very pleased with the end product.
Carly and her team were first class from start to finish and I would highly recommend anyone to use this company for all there building and glazing needs. Top class service, thanks again Carly!
We would definitely recommend them to other people.
For reference I have built and converted homes for over 30 years now and never had these issues before.
I would fully recommend LDG to anyone.
Each window and door I needed was a different and bespoke size, and every one arrived on site and fitted perfectly, so much so that I am currently in the process of placing new orders with LDG for phase 2 of my build. Very competitively priced and also with a quick turnaround, they were delivered on time.
Highly recommended!
This is a simple 3m by 3.5m extension — two windows, a lantern skylight, and a set of double doors. We were told it would take a matter of weeks. Instead, we've had long periods with no one on site, poor communication throughout, and 3 months on there are still key elements left incomplete.
We're still waiting on:
Tiling to the exterior shell and steps.
Electrical issues (switches not working, spotlights incorrectly positioned).
Damage to the paintwork on the newly installed door and the door not shutting correctly.
Window and door frame finishing.
It has been up to us to chase subcontractors, manage timelines, and clean up after people — none of which we expected when paying a professional company to do a turnkey job.
I’m posting this review in the hope it spurs LDG into finally delivering on the project. We were promised a stress-free, quick build. It has been anything but.
Have used LDG for years, but their after sales service seems to be sadly lacking.
Had windows fitted no problems, but in less than a year one pane had failed, now here comes the comedy show of errors/not being bothered.
First engineer visit to assess fault- no show.
Second visit, faulty window measured and replacement confirmed.
Third visit, cancelled on day of appointment due to faulty replacement (days holiday taken)
Fourth visit, wrong sized window pane brought by fitter.( another days holiday taken)
Please reach out for a solution, starting to think that LDG couldn’t find organise a drinking session in a brewery.
Highly recommended
No high pressure sales technique just good advice and a good price,
Surveying done professionally, both John and Calum fitted the windows to a very good standard, turned up when they said they would and tidied up afterwards.
The plasterer and the sealer were pretty good also.
Would highly recommend LDG.
Signed up and paid deposit, salesman said doubted planning permission needed.
Then huge delay till go ahead.
Builders and fitters great.
Then all went wrong with plasterer that could not plaster!!
Totally ruined.
Then 2 guys came on separate occasions to rectify mistakes.
Still not great.
Cost us alot of money. For a botch job.
Then chased by manager ti pay final amount, No discount and slapped with extra £600,survey fee.
Our conservatory still not right.
Very sad, to put this review together.
THINK BEFORE YOU ORDER FROM
LANCASHIRE DOUBLE GLAZING.
SIMPLE CORDIAL BUSINESS TASK OF INFORMING -UPDATING A SICK PENSIONOR. THAT HE WILL BE HONOURED AND HAVE HIS INSTALLMENTS ON SCHEDULE . ABSOLUTE DISGUSTING ATTITUDE BY LDG.
Highly recommend
The installer Harry was just as professional. Arrived on time, got the job done in a timely manner and left the place clean after. All round great service and would recommend them to anyone asking about doors or windows.
The window fitters Paul and Lauren were excellent. Professional, friendly constantly keeping me in the loop of what they were doing on the day and making sure I agreed. They are an asset to the company. If you want windows/doors just go to the best and that really is LDG. Outstanding!!!
We asked for 30 min notification prior to turning up on three separate occasions and not once did that happen. One day they didn't turn up at all. Once installed they looked great from a distance but when you got closer it was a mess. I'd probably be hopeless at using silicone - but so was whoever did this one. I think 3 out of 6 windows needed silicone taking off and redoing. After the panelling was added and re silicone it did look so much better and they wasted no time in getting things sorted out once notified.
The welds on the frames are somewhat visible where the white has bled on the top of the grey. Most frames covered in transfer . Which all eventually can be filled in with a paint pen and the transfer can be rubbed off with a bit of elbow grease. They shouldn't really leave manufacturers before this is done but that's just my opinion. Some frames were scraped and scratched and handles scratched . These were flagged and these was rectified.
Workmen we're polite and friendly and very easy to get on with. They cleaned up after themselves every shift and worked hard to get things done.
The back door wouldn't lock at all. Had to leave completely unlocked overnight until someone could come and check it. Had to be readjusted and is now fine.
One of the panes of glass on the patio door 'shattered' during installation so we waited around 4 days after the installation was complete for a replacement. Once again no 30 min warning just turned up at the door. As soon as this piece of glass was fitted - like literally 2 whole minutes of leaving the house - the phone then rang from the office asking to settle the invoice . Which is completely and utterly rude to be asking for money after all the crap that went wrong without checking the pane.
Good job we didn't pay as the replacement glass we got had a massive scratch on the inside of the double glazing to which we waited another 2 to 3 days for that replacement.
Finally almost 3 weeks from start date we was at 100% , the windows and doors look brilliant now and it was a definite improvement over how it was before we started. Ultimately when you spend this much money you just expect things to be perfect and right the first time. I can't help but think we could have saved a couple thousand pounds and got the same result if not better somewhere else. It's unfair to give any lower than a 3 and I can't find reason to give any more also.
So I would say use at your own peril but please please check the work over and over again. In 20 years time - if they last that long - I probably wouldn't use this company again unfortunately and I wouldn't recommend to a friend or family . Maybe we just got a bad wave of hiccups based on the other reviews but that's my personal opinion.
