New Windows

OUR WINDOWS ARE MUCH MORE THAN “JUST A WINDOW!”

Replacing your windows can yield many benefits for your home, including enhanced energy efficiency, kerb appeal, comfort, and noise reduction, thereby improving both the aesthetics and functionality of your living space.

Older windows not only contribute to energy loss and higher utility bills, but they can also make your home feel less comfortable. The lack of insulation allows draughts to enter, causing cold air to seep in during the winter months and warm air to escape in the summer. By replacing these outdated windows with modern, energy-efficient ones, you can create a more comfortable living environment while also reducing your energy consumption and saving money on your monthly bills.

Replacing your windows can also improve the overall look of your home. Windows play a vital role in defining the architectural style and personality of a house. By choosing windows that match the design and aesthetics of your home, you can greatly enhance its kerb appeal. Whether you prefer traditional, timeless windows or elegant, contemporary designs, there are plenty of choices to suit your taste and enhance the visual appeal of your property.

If you live in a noisy neighbourhood or near busy main roads, outdated windows may fail to adequately block external noise. Replacing them with new windows that incorporate sound-reducing features can make your home quieter and more peaceful. Enhanced noise reduction is particularly beneficial for bedrooms, home offices, and any space where you desire peace and the ability to focus.

When selecting a window style, it’s important to consider factors such as your home’s architectural style, you may want Victorian, Georgian, or flush casement windows. The amount of natural light desired should also be a factor, the intended functionality of the window, and of course, your personal taste. Contact us at Lancashire Double Glazing to find out more.

New Doors in Pooley Bridge

UPVC & COMPOSITE FRONT, PATIO, BI-FOLD AND FRENCH DOORS

Upgrading to a new door comes with many benefits, including the possibility of better energy efficiency. Outdated doors tend to lack proper insulation, leading to heat escaping in the winter and entering in the summer. This not only results in discomfort but also increases energy costs. Contemporary exterior doors are crafted to provide top quality thermal insulation. They are made with cutting-edge materials and insulation techniques, effectively blocking heat transfer and keeping your home at a pleasant temperature all year round. By minimising heat loss, a new front door can lower your energy usage and cut down on heating and cooling bills.

Homeowners prioritise security and find peace of mind by installing new front and back doors. With the help of technological advancements, modern front doors come with robust locking systems and extra security features like multipoint locking mechanisms and reinforced frames. These enhancements make it significantly harder for potential intruders to break into your home. By choosing a top quality front or back door, you can ensure the safety of your home.

Installing energy-efficient front doors can not only reduce energy consumption but also contribute to environmental sustainability. By decreasing your carbon footprint, you can make a positive impact on the environment. Think about durability, maintenance, energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics when selecting the ideal material for your new door whether it be a composite door, patio, or stunning bi-folding doors.

Beautiful Conservatories

RANGES AVAILABLE FOR UPVC CONSERVATORY AND ORANGERY ROOF SYSTEMS

A conservatory can fulfil a variety of needs by providing flexible additional living space that seamlessly connects your home to the outdoors. Whether used as an office, playroom, dining area, or relaxing space filled with natural light, a conservatory creates room tailored to your requirements while bringing your garden indoors. A conservatory not only provides practical living space, but also enhances your home’s aesthetic appeal. This versatile addition can be used in many ways, benefiting families of all sizes. Whether accommodating a growing family or creating space to spread out, a conservatory offers an excellent solution.
The true value of a conservatory stems from its adaptability, as it can complement your home’s existing architecture while seamlessly extending your living space outdoors. With thoughtful design and layout, a conservatory becomes a natural, flowing addition that blends indoor and outdoor living. A conservatory’s abundance of natural light is a key advantage, creating a bright and airy interior perfect for relaxation. Large windows allow sunlight to fill the space, making it feel sun-drenched even on cloudy days.
A conservatory blurs the line between indoor and outdoor living by providing an unparalleled connection with nature. Imagine sipping morning coffee while basking in the warmth of the sun, or hosting dinner parties overlooking your lush garden. The versatility of a conservatory allows it to be customised to your needs, transforming the space into a relaxing chill out room, home gym, or entertainment area. This adaptability makes a conservatory a unique and personalised addition to any home.
A conservatory offers year-round enjoyment. With proper insulation and heating, it remains a comfortable and inviting space even during cold weather, a conservatory provides an extra room and beautiful views in every season.

Warm Roofs in Pooley Bridge

WARM ROOF SYSTEMS

A traditional conservatory has a glass or polycarbonate roof, and can become unbearably hot in summer and uncomfortably cold in the winter. Installing a well-insulated warm roof transforms the conservatory into a comfortable, energy-efficient space that stays functional all year-round, no matter what the weather is like outside!

One of the advantages of a warm roof is its low maintenance requirements. Unlike traditional conservatory roofs, which often require regular cleaning, repairs, and replacement of worn-out materials, a warm roof is built to last. With its durable construction and high-quality insulation, a warm roof can withstand the test of time with minimal upkeep. The solid materials used in a warm roof are designed to be weather-resistant, ensuring that your conservatory remains in top condition for years to come. This means you can spend more time enjoying your conservatory and less time worrying about maintenance tasks.

A warm roof greatly enhances a conservatory’s energy efficiency by providing excellent insulation that effectively prevents condensation. This lowers the risk of damp and mould growth while trapping heat in winter and keeping the area cool in summer. As a result, a warm roof conservatory has lower energy costs and a reduced carbon footprint. With this efficient design, you can enjoy you conservatory without worrying about expenses or environmental impact.

A warm roof not only regulates temperature, but also insulates against outside noise, creating a peaceful oasis in your conservatory. You won’t be subjected to traffic noise, or the sounds of a busy neighbourhood, a warm roof provides a quiet space for relaxing with a book, a family meal, or just taking a respite, no matter the season.

Extensions in Pooley Bridge

CREATE THAT DREAM LIVING SPACE IN YOUR HOME

Having a home extension built on your property offers numerous benefits that can enhance your living experience and increase the value of your home.

One of the primary advantages of investing in a home extension is the significant increase in property value it can bring. With more usable space, your home becomes more appealing to potential buyers and can fetch a higher price when you decide to sell. A well-designed and executed extension can make your property stand out from others in the market, giving you a competitive edge. Furthermore, home extensions are often seen as attractive investments as they allow buyers to avoid the hassle and costs associated with purchasing a larger property. By expanding your current home, you can enjoy the benefits of a larger space without the need to uproot your life and move to a new location.

Home extensions come in various shapes and sizes, each catering to different needs and preferences. A rear extension involves extending the existing rear portion of your home. It can be an excellent option if you want to expand your living area, create a larger kitchen or dining space, or add an additional family room. Rear extensions are versatile and can be designed to accommodate various functions. A side extension involves extending the side of your home, typically along the ground floor. This type of extension can be an ideal solution for increasing the overall living space or creating additional bedrooms or utility rooms. Side extensions can also be used to create a separate entrance or an integrated garage. A wraparound extension combines both rear and side extensions to create a more substantial addition to your home. This type of extension offers maximum flexibility and can be used to create a multi-level extension or to add multiple rooms, such as bedrooms, bathrooms, or even a home gym. A loft conversion is a popular choice for homeowners seeking to maximise the available space in their property. By converting the loft into usable living space, you can add an extra bedroom, a home office, or a playroom. Loft conversions are often more cost-effective than traditional extensions, as they utilise existing space without altering the footprint of the property.

Beautiful Orangeries

BESPOKE ORANGERIES

An orangery is a very versatile and elegant addition that can enhance both the functionality and aesthetics of a property. Unlike a traditional conservatory, an orangery is built with more solid materials, such as brick or stone, and features large windows and a glass roof. This design allows for natural light to flood in, creating a bright and airy environment. This additional living space can be utilised as a dining area, a home office, a playroom, or even a relaxation area. Another common reason for building an orangery is to provide a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The large windows and glass roof not only provide abundant natural light but also offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

This creates a sense of openness and allows homeowners to enjoy the beauty of their garden or outdoor area throughout the year, regardless of the weather conditions. Furthermore, an orangery can add value to a property. Its unique and luxurious design can significantly enhance the overall appeal and desirability of a home. Potential buyers are often attracted to properties that offer something special and out of the ordinary, and an orangery certainly fits the bill. This can result in a higher resale value and a quicker sale when compared to similar properties without this feature.

Additionally, an orangery provides a versatile space that can be used for various purposes. It can actually serve as a greenhouse for gardening enthusiasts, allowing them to cultivate plants and flowers all year round. You could also use it as an office, study area, or a separate play area for the children, or even your own gym space. A homeowner who loves hosting dinner parties may opt for an orangery with a large dining area and bi-fold doors that open up to a patio or garden. This creates a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing for effortless entertaining.

Simon our salesman was very friendly, not pushy and understood our budget. 4 windows replaced and the survey also revealed we needed some extra work we weren’t aware of to keep our house safe. Owen was a great salesman. Very polite and very friendly without being pushy or over bearing he secured the deal. Was advised of a 2-3 day install on the entire house. Obviously things run over and in the end it eventually went to about 2 weeks due to only working 4 days per week.We asked for 30 min notification prior to turning up on three separate occasions and not once did that happen. One day they didn't turn up at all. Once installed they looked great from a distance but when you got closer it was a mess. I'd probably be hopeless at using silicone - but so was whoever did this one. I think 3 out of 6 windows needed silicone taking off and redoing. After the panelling was added and re silicone it did look so much better and they wasted no time in getting things sorted out once notified. The welds on the frames are somewhat visible where the white has bled on the top of the grey. Most frames covered in transfer . Which all eventually can be filled in with a paint pen and the transfer can be rubbed off with a bit of elbow grease. They shouldn't really leave manufacturers before this is done but that's just my opinion. Some frames were scraped and scratched and handles scratched . These were flagged and these was rectified.Workmen we're polite and friendly and very easy to get on with. They cleaned up after themselves every shift and worked hard to get things done. The back door wouldn't lock at all. Had to leave completely unlocked overnight until someone could come and check it. Had to be readjusted and is now fine. One of the panes of glass on the patio door 'shattered' during installation so we waited around 4 days after the installation was complete for a replacement. Once again no 30 min warning just turned up at the door. As soon as this piece of glass was fitted - like literally 2 whole minutes of leaving the house - the phone then rang from the office asking to settle the invoice . Which is completely and utterly rude to be asking for money after all the crap that went wrong without checking the pane.Good job we didn't pay as the replacement glass we got had a massive scratch on the inside of the double glazing to which we waited another 2 to 3 days for that replacement. Finally almost 3 weeks from start date we was at 100% , the windows and doors look brilliant now and it was a definite improvement over how it was before we started. Ultimately when you spend this much money you just expect things to be perfect and right the first time. I can't help but think we could have saved a couple thousand pounds and got the same result if not better somewhere else. It's unfair to give any lower than a 3 and I can't find reason to give any more also.So I would say use at your own peril but please please check the work over and over again. In 20 years time - if they last that long - I probably wouldn't use this company again unfortunately and I wouldn't recommend to a friend or family . Maybe we just got a bad wave of hiccups based on the other reviews but that's my personal opinion.
