New Windows in Windermere

WINDOWS DESIGNED TO WITHSTAND THE TEST OF TIME

Replacing your windows brings many benefits to your home, including enhanced energy efficiency, noise reduction, kerb appeal, comfort, thereby improving both the aesthetics and functionality of your living space.

Outdated, worn windows not only lead to energy loss and higher utility bills, but they can also zap the comfort out of your home. Inadequate insulation allows draughts to come in, causing cold air to seep in during winter and warm air to escape in summer. Upgrading to modern, energy-efficient windows can improve the overall comfort of your living space while reducing energy consumption and cutting down on monthly expenses. Replacing your windows can also enhance the overall appearance of your home. Windows play a crucial role in defining the architectural style and character of a house. By selecting windows that complement the design and aesthetics of your home, you can significantly boost its kerb appeal. Whether you prefer classic, timeless windows or sophisticated, modern designs, there are numerous options available to match your preferences and enhance the visual appeal of your property.

Living in a loud neighbourhood or close to busy roads can result in outdated windows being ineffective at blocking out external noise. Upgrading to new windows with sound-reducing capabilities can create a quieter and more serene environment in your home. Improved noise reduction is especially beneficial for bedrooms, home offices, and any area where tranquillity and concentration are needed the most. When selecting a window style, it’s important to consider factors such as your home’s architectural style, you may want Victorian, Georgian, or flush casement windows. The amount of natural light desired should also be a factor, the intended functionality of the window, and of course, your personal taste. Contact us at Lancashire Double Glazing to find out more.

New External Doors

UPVC, COMPOSITE, FRONT, REAR, PATIO, AND FRENCH DOORS

Upgrading your door offers numerous advantages, such as the potential for improved energy efficiency. Older doors often lack adequate insulation, causing heat to escape during winter and enter during summer. This not only leads to discomfort but also raises energy expenses. Modern exterior doors are meticulously designed to offer exceptional thermal insulation. They are constructed using advanced materials and insulation methods, effectively preventing heat transfer and maintaining a comfortable temperature in your home throughout the year. By reducing heat loss, a new front door can decrease energy consumption and minimise heating and cooling costs.

As homeowners, we value security more than ever, and we can achieve this through the installation of new front and back doors, as well as patio or sliding doors. Thanks to technological progress, contemporary doors are equipped with strong locking systems and additional security features such as multipoint locking mechanisms and reinforced frames. These upgrades greatly increase the difficulty for potential intruders to gain access to your home. Opting for a high-quality front or back door guarantees the protection of your home.

Consider durability, maintenance, energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics when choosing the perfect material for your new door, whether it’s a composite door, patio door, or beautiful bi-folding doors. Installing energy-efficient front doors can help lower energy usage and support environmental sustainability by reducing your carbon footprint.

Beautiful Conservatories in Windermere

CONSERVATORIES, ORANGERIES, EXTENSIONS & BESPOKE ROOF SYSTEMS

A conservatory offers a multitude of uses, serving as a versatile extension that effortlessly links your home to the outside world. Whether utilised as a workspace, an extended dining area, or simply another lounge area, a conservatory offers a personalised space while blending the indoors with the outdoors. In addition to providing functional living space, a conservatory elevates the visual charm of your residence. This adaptable extension can cater to various needs, making it advantageous for families of any size. Whether accommodating an expanding family or seeking extra room to unwind, a conservatory presents a fantastic option.

The flexibility of a conservatory adds value to it, as it effortlessly extends the living area to the outdoors while harmonising with the home’s architecture. With a customised design and layout, a conservatory becomes a seamless extension that blends indoor and outdoor living spaces. A notable benefit of a conservatory is the abundance of natural light that fills the interior, creating a vibrant and open space ideal for unwinding. The inclusion of expansive windows allows sunlight to stream in, resulting in relaxing atmosphere, even during cloudy days.

Picture the whole family around at Christmas and special events, or just space for your daily yoga session, the flexibility of a conservatory enables it to be customised to your needs, morphing the space into a tranquil retreat, or entertainment hub. This adaptability makes a conservatory a distinctive and personalised enhancement to any home.

Whether it’s a Victorian or P-shaped style, a conservatory offers year-round enjoyment. With proper insulation and heating, it remains a comfortable and inviting space even during cold weather. The conservatory provides an extra room and beautiful views in every season.

Warm Roof

WARM ROOF SYSTEMS

A warm roof greatly enhances a conservatory’s energy efficiency by providing first-class insulation that effectively prevents condensation. This lowers the risk of damp and mould growth while trapping heat in winter and keeping the area cool in summer. Because of this, a warm roof conservatory has reduced energy costs and a lower carbon footprint. With this cost-effective design, you can enjoy you conservatory without worrying about expenses or environmental impact

A traditional conservatory has a glass or polycarbonate roof, and can become unbearably hot in summer and cold in the winter. Installing a well-insulated warm roof, transforms the conservatory into a comfortable, energy-efficient space that stays functional all year-round, no matter what the weather is like outside!

One of the advantages of a warm roof is the low maintenance it requires. Unlike traditional conservatory roofs, which require regular cleaning, repairs, and replacement of worn-out materials, a warm roof is built to last. With its durable construction and high-quality insulation, a warm roof can withstand the test of time with minimal upkeep. The durable materials employed in a warm roof are engineered to withstand harsh weather conditions, guaranteeing the longevity of your conservatory. This allows you to fully appreciate your conservatory without the burden of frequent upkeep.

A warm roof not only regulates temperature, but also insulates against outside noise, creating a peaceful oasis in your conservatory. You won’t be subjected to traffic noise, or the sounds of a busy neighbourhood, a warm roof provides a quiet space for relaxing with a book, a family meal, or just a peaceful family night in, no matter the weather outside.

Extensions in Windermere

CREATE THAT DREAM LIVING SPACE IN YOUR HOME

If you are looking to adding more space for your family, while increasing the value of your home, then adding a home extension from Lancashire Double Glazing can do just that. We work with you and discuss what size and style would be your best option.

Building an extension can greatly increase your property value. The extra living space makes your home more attractive to potential buyers, allowing you to demand a higher sale price. A thoughtfully designed addition helps your home stand out in the market, giving you a competitive edge over similar properties. Moreover, extending an existing home is often a clever investment, as it provides more room without the hassle and expense of selling and buying another property. By remodelling instead of relocating, you can enjoy a larger home without having to move.

A home extension can come in many shapes and sizes, each designed to meet different needs and preferences. Side extensions lengthen your home along one side, usually the ground floor. This addition can increase the overall living area or provide extra bedrooms, maybe a utility room, a separate entrance, or an attached garage. A rear extension offers the perfect way to expand living space, enlarge the kitchen or dining area, or add a family room. Converting an existing loft into living space is becoming an increasingly popular, cost-effective extension option. By using your loft space instead of altering the home’s footprint, you can add an extra bedroom, home office, or even a playroom. Contact us for further information.

BESPOKE ORANGERIES

An orangery is an adaptable and elegant addition that can enhance both the functionality and appearance of your home. Unlike a traditional conservatory, an orangery is built using more durable materials such as brick or stone, and features large windows and a glass roof. This design allows abundant natural light to flood the space, creating a vibrant and spacious atmosphere. You can transform this space into a dining room, play area, or just a simple chill out room. There is something quite special about relaxing in an orangery, surrounded by your garden, it’s like a connection to the outdoors. And the expansive windows and glass roof bring in ample natural light.

An orangery offers a sense of openness, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of your garden or outdoor area regardless of the weather. Moreover, it can enhance the value of a property. The unique architecture of an orangery significantly enhances the overall charm and desirability of a property. Potential buyers are often attracted to properties that offer something extra, and an orangery certainly meets these criteria. As a result, this can lead to a quicker sale at an increased price, compared to properties without this feature.

An orangery provides an incredibly versatile space. It can serve as a greenhouse for gardening enthusiasts, enabling them to grow plants and flowers all year round. Additionally, it can be used as an office, games room, or even a home gym. For those who love entertaining guests, an orangery with a generous dining area and bi-fold doors opening to a patio or garden would be perfect. This design promotes a seamless flow between the interior and exterior spaces, making hosting effortless.

From start to finish LDG deserve 10/10. Tony who came to give me an estimate was so customer focused and pleasant. That’s the first reason I decided that I was going to have them. I did have other quotes but Tony’s customer service blew them out it the park. The window fitters Paul and Lauren were excellent. Professional, friendly constantly keeping me in the loop of what they were doing on the day and making sure I agreed. They are an asset to the company. Simon our salesman was very friendly, not pushy and understood our budget. 4 windows replaced and the survey also revealed we needed some extra work we weren’t aware of to keep our house safe. John and Kallum our fitters done a great job, cleaned up well after themselves, were polite and done the job in good time. Many thanks again, Matt and Katie

Owen was a great salesman. Very polite and very friendly without being pushy or over bearing he secured the deal. Was advised of a 2-3 day install on the entire house. Obviously things run over and in the end it eventually went to about 2 weeks due to only working 4 days per week.We asked for 30 min notification prior to turning up on three separate occasions and not once did that happen. One day they didn't turn up at all. Once installed they looked great from a distance but when you got closer it was a mess. I'd probably be hopeless at using silicone - but so was whoever did this one. I think 3 out of 6 windows needed silicone taking off and redoing. After the panelling was added and re silicone it did look so much better and they wasted no time in getting things sorted out once notified. The welds on the frames are somewhat visible where the white has bled on the top of the grey. Most frames covered in transfer . Which all eventually can be filled in with a paint pen and the transfer can be rubbed off with a bit of elbow grease. They shouldn't really leave manufacturers before this is done but that's just my opinion. Some frames were scraped and scratched and handles scratched . These were flagged and these was rectified.Workmen we're polite and friendly and very easy to get on with. They cleaned up after themselves every shift and worked hard to get things done. The back door wouldn't lock at all. Had to leave completely unlocked overnight until someone could come and check it. Had to be readjusted and is now fine. One of the panes of glass on the patio door 'shattered' during installation so we waited around 4 days after the installation was complete for a replacement. Once again no 30 min warning just turned up at the door. As soon as this piece of glass was fitted - like literally 2 whole minutes of leaving the house - the phone then rang from the office asking to settle the invoice . Which is completely and utterly rude to be asking for money after all the crap that went wrong without checking the pane.Good job we didn't pay as the replacement glass we got had a massive scratch on the inside of the double glazing to which we waited another 2 to 3 days for that replacement. Finally almost 3 weeks from start date we was at 100% , the windows and doors look brilliant now and it was a definite improvement over how it was before we started. Ultimately when you spend this much money you just expect things to be perfect and right the first time. I can't help but think we could have saved a couple thousand pounds and got the same result if not better somewhere else. It's unfair to give any lower than a 3 and I can't find reason to give any more also.So I would say use at your own peril but please please check the work over and over again. In 20 years time - if they last that long - I probably wouldn't use this company again unfortunately and I wouldn't recommend to a friend or family . Maybe we just got a bad wave of hiccups based on the other reviews but that's my personal opinion.
