Warm Roof
WARM ROOF SYSTEMS
Transforming your conservatory into a year-round usable space is now a reality with the installation of a warm roof. Say goodbye to the extreme temperatures that render your conservatory unusable in summer and winter. A warm roof fitted on your conservatory offers a range of benefits that enhance both comfort and energy efficiency.
A warm roof is a highly effective solution to combat the common issues faced by conservatory owners. Unlike traditional conservatory roofs, which are usually made of glass or polycarbonate, a warm roof is built with solid, highly insulated materials. This innovative design eliminates the problems associated with traditional roofs, such as excessive heat in the summer and cold draughts in the winter.
With its superior insulation properties, a warm roof ensures that your conservatory maintains a comfortable temperature throughout the year. This means you can enjoy your conservatory even during the coldest winter months or the hottest summer days. Additionally, a warm roof prevents condensation from forming, which reduces the risk of damp and mould growth.
One of the key benefits of a warm roof is its ability to improve the energy efficiency of your conservatory. The superior insulation properties of a warm roof help to retain heat during the winter months and keep the space cool in the summer. This means you can reduce your energy bills and reduce carbon emissions. You can enjoy the benefits of a comfortable conservatory without worrying about the impact on the planet or your wallet.
In addition to temperature control, a warm roof also provides excellent sound insulation. This means you can create a peaceful and serene environment in your conservatory, free from the noise of traffic or other external disturbances. Whether you’re reading a book, working from home, or simply enjoying a cup of tea, a warm roof ensures a tranquil space where you can fully unwind.
Extensions
CREATE THAT DREAM LIVING SPACE IN YOUR HOME
One of the primary advantages of investing in a home extension is the significant increase in property value it can bring. With more usable space, your home becomes more appealing to potential buyers and can fetch a higher price when you decide to sell. A well-designed and executed extension can make your property stand out from others in the market, giving you a competitive edge.
Home extensions are often seen as attractive investments as they allow buyers to avoid the hassle and costs associated with purchasing a larger property. By expanding your current home, you can enjoy the benefits of a larger space without the need to uproot your life and move to a new location.
Whether you dream of a spacious kitchen, a cosy home office, or an additional living area, a home extension enables you to design the perfect room layout. You have the freedom to incorporate the latest trends, choose the finishes and materials that resonate with your style, and create a space that truly reflects your personality.
Investing in a home extension is often a more cost-effective solution compared to purchasing a new property. Moving to a larger home typically involves significant expenses such as real estate agent fees, stamp duty, and other associated costs. By extending your existing home, you get to stay in the neighbourhood you love, maintain your established networks and support systems, and avoid the hassle and stress of moving. Additionally, a home extension can save you money in the long run by eliminating the need for ongoing storage fees or renting additional spaces to accommodate your belongings.
Careful planning and consideration of the design and functionality of your home extension are essential to ensure that it meets your needs and enhances your lifestyle. Think about how the extension will integrate with the existing structure, how it will affect natural light, and flow with the rest of your home. Additionally, consider any specific requirements, such as accessibility features or energy efficiency considerations.
Don’t settle for a cramped living space any longer. Investing in a home extension can provide you with the additional space, functionality, and value that your home needs. Whether you’re in need of an extra bedroom, a larger kitchen, or a dedicated workspace, a well-designed extension can unlock a world of possibilities. By considering the benefits, planning carefully, and managing the process effectively, you can transform your home into a haven that caters to your unique needs and lifestyle. So, why wait? Take the first step towards a more spacious and fulfilling living environment by exploring the possibilities of a home extension today.
Beautiful Orangeries in Kendal
BESPOKE ORANGERIES
An orangery blends indoor and outdoor living by extending a home with ample windows and glass panels that bathe the space in natural light and showcase views of the landscape. Originally built to shelter citrus trees in winter, orangeries have evolved into flexible rooms suitable for many uses.
Homeowners frequently choose to incorporate orangeries into their homes to enjoy the ample natural light they offer. The presence of large windows and glass panels allows sunlight to fill the space, resulting in a cheerful and spacious atmosphere that comes with a variety of advantages. The natural light not only improves the visual appeal but also uplifts mood, increases productivity, and promotes healthy sleep habits. Additionally, by seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces, orangeries provide panoramic views of the surrounding scenery.
Investing in an orangery offers numerous benefits, and one of the most compelling reasons is its versatility and functionality. An orangery can be tailored to suit your individual requirements, whether you desire a dining area, a home office, or simply a space to unwind and rejuvenate. Its open and spacious design allows for effortless furniture arrangement, making it a flexible area that can easily adapt to your evolving lifestyle. You have the freedom to transform it into a cosy area to relax, a vibrant entertainment zone, or even a yoga studio. The possibilities are truly limitless.
When it comes to designing your orangery, there are various factors to consider. Firstly, you need to decide on the size and layout that best suits your needs and the available space. Consider the orientation of your property to make the most of natural light and views. Next, choose the materials for your orangery. While traditional orangeries were built using brick and timber, modern options include aluminium and uPVC, which offer durability, low maintenance, and energy efficiency. Lastly, select the right glazing options to maximise insulation and minimise heat loss. Double or triple-glazed windows and roof panels will help regulate temperature and reduce energy consumption.
Whether you choose to use it as a space for relaxation, entertainment, or simply to enjoy the beauty of nature, an orangery is a timeless investment that will bring joy and charm to your home for years to come. So, why wait? Embrace the allure of orangeries and transform your home today.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS
Also, As opposed to the many door/window sales that come knocking, it was very nice to walk round their showroom to see and feel the different window options (and ask lots of questions) rather than making a decision from a brochure.
Will defo use them again for future window fits.
Would highly recommend
Now im selling my house I realised I never received Fensa certificates, chased them. At first they said one lot hadnt been registered but it would be and I would receive the certificate shortly now they were registering it. When I said I didn't get a certificate for the other job they said I would have to buy one directly from Fensa, when I tried it turned out they hadn't registered that job either, why they claimed they had I dont know but it added a week on the hold up of getting a new EPC as I waited for them both.
They also employed my neighbour for a short while who dumped a load of upvc behind my house which is still there...
Very pleased with the end product.
Carly and her team were first class from start to finish and I would highly recommend anyone to use this company for all there building and glazing needs. Top class service, thanks again Carly!
We would definitely recommend them to other people.
For reference I have built and converted homes for over 30 years now and never had these issues before.
I would fully recommend LDG to anyone.
Each window and door I needed was a different and bespoke size, and every one arrived on site and fitted perfectly, so much so that I am currently in the process of placing new orders with LDG for phase 2 of my build. Very competitively priced and also with a quick turnaround, they were delivered on time.
Highly recommended!
This is a simple 3m by 3.5m extension — two windows, a lantern skylight, and a set of double doors. We were told it would take a matter of weeks. Instead, we've had long periods with no one on site, poor communication throughout, and 3 months on there are still key elements left incomplete.
We're still waiting on:
Tiling to the exterior shell and steps.
Electrical issues (switches not working, spotlights incorrectly positioned).
Damage to the paintwork on the newly installed door and the door not shutting correctly.
Window and door frame finishing.
It has been up to us to chase subcontractors, manage timelines, and clean up after people — none of which we expected when paying a professional company to do a turnkey job.
I’m posting this review in the hope it spurs LDG into finally delivering on the project. We were promised a stress-free, quick build. It has been anything but.
Have used LDG for years, but their after sales service seems to be sadly lacking.
Had windows fitted no problems, but in less than a year one pane had failed, now here comes the comedy show of errors/not being bothered.
First engineer visit to assess fault- no show.
Second visit, faulty window measured and replacement confirmed.
Third visit, cancelled on day of appointment due to faulty replacement (days holiday taken)
Fourth visit, wrong sized window pane brought by fitter.( another days holiday taken)
Please reach out for a solution, starting to think that LDG couldn’t find organise a drinking session in a brewery.
Highly recommended
No high pressure sales technique just good advice and a good price,
Surveying done professionally, both John and Calum fitted the windows to a very good standard, turned up when they said they would and tidied up afterwards.
The plasterer and the sealer were pretty good also.
Would highly recommend LDG.
Signed up and paid deposit, salesman said doubted planning permission needed.
Then huge delay till go ahead.
Builders and fitters great.
Then all went wrong with plasterer that could not plaster!!
Totally ruined.
Then 2 guys came on separate occasions to rectify mistakes.
Still not great.
Cost us alot of money. For a botch job.
Then chased by manager ti pay final amount, No discount and slapped with extra £600,survey fee.
Our conservatory still not right.
Very sad, to put this review together.
THINK BEFORE YOU ORDER FROM
LANCASHIRE DOUBLE GLAZING.
SIMPLE CORDIAL BUSINESS TASK OF INFORMING -UPDATING A SICK PENSIONOR. THAT HE WILL BE HONOURED AND HAVE HIS INSTALLMENTS ON SCHEDULE . ABSOLUTE DISGUSTING ATTITUDE BY LDG.
Highly recommend
The installer Harry was just as professional. Arrived on time, got the job done in a timely manner and left the place clean after. All round great service and would recommend them to anyone asking about doors or windows.
The window fitters Paul and Lauren were excellent. Professional, friendly constantly keeping me in the loop of what they were doing on the day and making sure I agreed. They are an asset to the company. If you want windows/doors just go to the best and that really is LDG. Outstanding!!!
We asked for 30 min notification prior to turning up on three separate occasions and not once did that happen. One day they didn't turn up at all. Once installed they looked great from a distance but when you got closer it was a mess. I'd probably be hopeless at using silicone - but so was whoever did this one. I think 3 out of 6 windows needed silicone taking off and redoing. After the panelling was added and re silicone it did look so much better and they wasted no time in getting things sorted out once notified.
The welds on the frames are somewhat visible where the white has bled on the top of the grey. Most frames covered in transfer . Which all eventually can be filled in with a paint pen and the transfer can be rubbed off with a bit of elbow grease. They shouldn't really leave manufacturers before this is done but that's just my opinion. Some frames were scraped and scratched and handles scratched . These were flagged and these was rectified.
Workmen we're polite and friendly and very easy to get on with. They cleaned up after themselves every shift and worked hard to get things done.
The back door wouldn't lock at all. Had to leave completely unlocked overnight until someone could come and check it. Had to be readjusted and is now fine.
One of the panes of glass on the patio door 'shattered' during installation so we waited around 4 days after the installation was complete for a replacement. Once again no 30 min warning just turned up at the door. As soon as this piece of glass was fitted - like literally 2 whole minutes of leaving the house - the phone then rang from the office asking to settle the invoice . Which is completely and utterly rude to be asking for money after all the crap that went wrong without checking the pane.
Good job we didn't pay as the replacement glass we got had a massive scratch on the inside of the double glazing to which we waited another 2 to 3 days for that replacement.
Finally almost 3 weeks from start date we was at 100% , the windows and doors look brilliant now and it was a definite improvement over how it was before we started. Ultimately when you spend this much money you just expect things to be perfect and right the first time. I can't help but think we could have saved a couple thousand pounds and got the same result if not better somewhere else. It's unfair to give any lower than a 3 and I can't find reason to give any more also.
So I would say use at your own peril but please please check the work over and over again. In 20 years time - if they last that long - I probably wouldn't use this company again unfortunately and I wouldn't recommend to a friend or family . Maybe we just got a bad wave of hiccups based on the other reviews but that's my personal opinion.
