New Windows in Millom
WINDOWS DESIGNED TO WITHSTAND THE TEST OF TIME
Enhance your windows, not just to boost energy efficiency and minimise noise, but also to make the most of the additional security features. By upgrading your aged windows, you can elevate the security of your residence and guarantee the safety of your family members from potential intrusions. Contemporary windows come with sophisticated locking mechanisms that offer an additional level of protection, bringing a sense of tranquillity to your home.
Older windows tend to have gaps and cracks that allow air to leak in and out, resulting in higher energy bills. However, with new windows, you can say goodbye to those pesky draughts and enjoy a much more comfortable home. The latest window designs are equipped with advanced weather-stripping and insulation materials that create a tight seal, preventing heat from escaping during the winter and keeping cool air inside during the summer.
Windows play a crucial role in our households, serving as vital elements that allow natural light to enter, fresh air to circulate, and elevate the overall appeal of our living areas. By upgrading your windows, you have the opportunity to completely transform your home into a sophisticated and cosy haven. With the availability of contemporary windows in an array of designs, colours, and functionalities, you can relish in the advantages of enhanced natural light, improved ventilation, and an enhanced aesthetic appeal.
If you live in a noisy neighbourhood or along a busy road, the constant external noises can really start to get you down. Fortunately, our windows have been meticulously crafted to reduce sound transmission, creating a quieter space inside. Thanks to this advancement, you can unwind and savour the peace without any disturbances from traffic or chatty passers-by. For further information, contact us at Lancashire Double Glazing.
New External Doors in Millom
UPVC, COMPOSITE, FRONT, REAR, PATIO, AND FRENCH DOORS
Elevate your home’s security by embracing the power of new front and back doors. Step into the realm of cutting-edge technology where our modern doors come equipped with locking systems and a suite of security enhancements. Multipoint locking mechanisms and reinforced frames seamlessly combine together, making it a daunting task for any would-be intruder. By investing in the superior quality of these fortified doors, you not only deter potential burglars but also provide an invaluable shield of protection for your family and belongings.
Investing in new external doors has the capacity to improve energy efficiency. Older doors often lack sufficient insulation, resulting in heat loss during winter and heat gain during summer. This not only leads to discomfort but also leads to increased energy expenses. Modern exterior doors are specifically designed to offer excellent thermal insulation. They are constructed using advanced materials and insulation technology, effectively preventing heat transfer and maintaining a comfortable temperature in your home throughout the year. By minimising heat loss, a new front door can help reduce energy consumption and save money on heating and cooling bills.
Energy-efficient doors, whether it be composite, uPVC or Bi-fold doors, also play a vital role in fostering environmental sustainability. By reducing energy consumption, you can effectively decrease your carbon footprint and make a positive impact on the environment. With a brand new entrance door, you can add some exciting features like spyholes, surveillance cameras, and smart locks. This means you can keep an eye on your home and control who enters from anywhere, giving you peace of mind and added security.
Take into account crucial aspects like upkeep, energy efficiency, safety, and visual appeal while choosing the perfect material for your entrance door. Reach out to Lancashire Double Glazing to explore our wide array of external doors for your residence.
Conservatories
CONSERVATORIES, ORANGERIES, EXTENSIONS & BESPOKE ROOF SYSTEMS
Having a home extension built on your property offers numerous benefits that can enhance your living experience and increase the value of your home. One of the primary advantages of investing in a home extension is the significant increase in property value it can bring. With more usable space, your home becomes more appealing to potential buyers and can fetch a higher price if you decide to sell. A well-designed and executed extension can make your property stand out from others in the market, giving you a competitive edge.
Home extensions are often seen as attractive investments as they allow buyers to avoid the hassle associated with purchasing a larger property. By expanding your current home, you can enjoy the benefits of a larger space now, without the need to uproot your life and move to a new location. It is often a more cost-effective solution compared to purchasing a new property. Moving to a larger home typically involves significant expenses such as real estate agent fees, stamp duty, and other associated costs.
Another compelling reason to have an extension built on your home is the ability to customise your living space to suit your needs and lifestyle. Whether you dream of a spacious kitchen, a new home office, or an additional living room area, a home extension enables you to design the perfect room layout. You have the freedom to incorporate the latest trends, choose the finishes and materials that resonate with your style, and create a space that truly reflects your personality. A well-designed extension can improve the flow and functionality of your home. You can address any existing layout issues or limitations, ensuring that every inch of your property is optimised for your comfort and convenience.
Additionally, a home extension can save you money in the long run by eliminating the need for ongoing storage fees or renting additional spaces to accommodate your belongings.
Warm Roof
WARM ROOF SYSTEMS
A warm roof for your conservatory is a game-changer when it comes to enhancing the comfort and usability of this beloved space in your home. Traditionally, conservatories have been notorious for their temperature fluctuations, with excessive heat in the summer and chilly conditions in the winter. However, with the installation of a warm roof, you can bid farewell to these issues and create a comfortable retreat that can be enjoyed all year round.
One of the key benefits of a warm roof is its excellent thermal insulation properties. Unlike traditional conservatory roofs, which are often made of glass or polycarbonate, a warm roof is constructed with advanced insulation materials. This insulation helps to regulate the temperature inside the conservatory, preventing heat from escaping during the colder months and keeping the space pleasantly cool during the summer. Say goodbye to those unbearable temperature extremes and hello to a consistently comfortable environment.
In addition to superior insulation, a warm roof also offers exceptional soundproofing. The insulation materials used in its construction help to dampen external noises, creating a peaceful atmosphere within your conservatory. Whether you’re using the space as a home office, a relaxation area, or a place for entertaining, the reduced noise levels provided by a warm roof ensure that you can fully immerse yourself in your activities without any distractions.
Furthermore, a warm roof opens up a world of design possibilities for your conservatory. With various styles, finishes, and customisation options available, you can seamlessly integrate the warm roof into the existing aesthetics of your home. It can be tailored to match your preferences and complement the overall design scheme of your property. Whether you prefer a traditional or contemporary look, a warm roof can be customised to suit your style, enhancing the visual appeal of your conservatory and adding value to your home.

Orangeries in Millom
BESPOKE ORANGERIES
Homeowners frequently choose to install an orangery in their homes because of its capacity to introduce abundant natural light. Through the use of expansive windows and glass panels, an orangery permits sunlight to flood the area, resulting in a luminous and spacious ambiance. This not only improves the aesthetic appeal of the space but also provides various advantages for your overall health. Research has shown that exposure to natural light can elevate mood, enhance productivity, and regulate sleep cycles. Additionally, an orangery seamlessly integrates with the exterior environment, providing a unique chance to appreciate panoramic views of your garden or the surrounding scenery.
An orangery offers a wide range of advantages, including its flexibility and functionality. Whether you require a dining area, a workspace, or just a tranquil escape, an orangery can be tailored to suit your individual requirements. Its airy and roomy layout enables simple furniture placement, creating a versatile space that can easily adjust to your evolving lifestyle. It can easily convert into a personal gym, a vibrant entertainment spot, or a study corner.
Orangeries offer more than just functionality; they bring a touch of timeless elegance and sophistication to any home. With their unique architectural features like ornamental pillars, lantern roofs, and intricate designs, orangeries exude a captivating charm that sets them apart from other types of house extensions. Whether your home boasts a traditional or modern design, an orangery can be customised to seamlessly blend with your personal style.
Picture a calm and inviting setting for relaxation and fun in your orangery. Whether you’re entertaining guests with sunlight filtering through the glass or doing yoga, the versatility of an orangery lets you create a space tailored to your entertainment needs. By adding comfortable seating and maybe a well-appointed bar area, you can effortlessly turn your orangery into a chic and appealing room for hosting and enjoyment.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS
Now im selling my house I realised I never received Fensa certificates, chased them. At first they said one lot hadnt been registered but it would be and I would receive the certificate shortly now they were registering it. When I said I didn't get a certificate for the other job they said I would have to buy one directly from Fensa, when I tried it turned out they hadn't registered that job either, why they claimed they had I dont know but it added a week on the hold up of getting a new EPC as I waited for them both.
They also employed my neighbour for a short while who dumped a load of upvc behind my house which is still there...
Very pleased with the end product.
Carly and her team were first class from start to finish and I would highly recommend anyone to use this company for all there building and glazing needs. Top class service, thanks again Carly!
We would definitely recommend them to other people.
For reference I have built and converted homes for over 30 years now and never had these issues before.
I would fully recommend LDG to anyone.
Each window and door I needed was a different and bespoke size, and every one arrived on site and fitted perfectly, so much so that I am currently in the process of placing new orders with LDG for phase 2 of my build. Very competitively priced and also with a quick turnaround, they were delivered on time.
Highly recommended!
This is a simple 3m by 3.5m extension — two windows, a lantern skylight, and a set of double doors. We were told it would take a matter of weeks. Instead, we've had long periods with no one on site, poor communication throughout, and 3 months on there are still key elements left incomplete.
We're still waiting on:
Tiling to the exterior shell and steps.
Electrical issues (switches not working, spotlights incorrectly positioned).
Damage to the paintwork on the newly installed door and the door not shutting correctly.
Window and door frame finishing.
It has been up to us to chase subcontractors, manage timelines, and clean up after people — none of which we expected when paying a professional company to do a turnkey job.
I’m posting this review in the hope it spurs LDG into finally delivering on the project. We were promised a stress-free, quick build. It has been anything but.
Have used LDG for years, but their after sales service seems to be sadly lacking.
Had windows fitted no problems, but in less than a year one pane had failed, now here comes the comedy show of errors/not being bothered.
First engineer visit to assess fault- no show.
Second visit, faulty window measured and replacement confirmed.
Third visit, cancelled on day of appointment due to faulty replacement (days holiday taken)
Fourth visit, wrong sized window pane brought by fitter.( another days holiday taken)
Please reach out for a solution, starting to think that LDG couldn’t find organise a drinking session in a brewery.
Highly recommended
No high pressure sales technique just good advice and a good price,
Surveying done professionally, both John and Calum fitted the windows to a very good standard, turned up when they said they would and tidied up afterwards.
The plasterer and the sealer were pretty good also.
Would highly recommend LDG.
Signed up and paid deposit, salesman said doubted planning permission needed.
Then huge delay till go ahead.
Builders and fitters great.
Then all went wrong with plasterer that could not plaster!!
Totally ruined.
Then 2 guys came on separate occasions to rectify mistakes.
Still not great.
Cost us alot of money. For a botch job.
Then chased by manager ti pay final amount, No discount and slapped with extra £600,survey fee.
Our conservatory still not right.
Very sad, to put this review together.
THINK BEFORE YOU ORDER FROM
LANCASHIRE DOUBLE GLAZING.
SIMPLE CORDIAL BUSINESS TASK OF INFORMING -UPDATING A SICK PENSIONOR. THAT HE WILL BE HONOURED AND HAVE HIS INSTALLMENTS ON SCHEDULE . ABSOLUTE DISGUSTING ATTITUDE BY LDG.
Highly recommend
The installer Harry was just as professional. Arrived on time, got the job done in a timely manner and left the place clean after. All round great service and would recommend them to anyone asking about doors or windows.
The window fitters Paul and Lauren were excellent. Professional, friendly constantly keeping me in the loop of what they were doing on the day and making sure I agreed. They are an asset to the company. If you want windows/doors just go to the best and that really is LDG. Outstanding!!!
We asked for 30 min notification prior to turning up on three separate occasions and not once did that happen. One day they didn't turn up at all. Once installed they looked great from a distance but when you got closer it was a mess. I'd probably be hopeless at using silicone - but so was whoever did this one. I think 3 out of 6 windows needed silicone taking off and redoing. After the panelling was added and re silicone it did look so much better and they wasted no time in getting things sorted out once notified.
The welds on the frames are somewhat visible where the white has bled on the top of the grey. Most frames covered in transfer . Which all eventually can be filled in with a paint pen and the transfer can be rubbed off with a bit of elbow grease. They shouldn't really leave manufacturers before this is done but that's just my opinion. Some frames were scraped and scratched and handles scratched . These were flagged and these was rectified.
Workmen we're polite and friendly and very easy to get on with. They cleaned up after themselves every shift and worked hard to get things done.
The back door wouldn't lock at all. Had to leave completely unlocked overnight until someone could come and check it. Had to be readjusted and is now fine.
One of the panes of glass on the patio door 'shattered' during installation so we waited around 4 days after the installation was complete for a replacement. Once again no 30 min warning just turned up at the door. As soon as this piece of glass was fitted - like literally 2 whole minutes of leaving the house - the phone then rang from the office asking to settle the invoice . Which is completely and utterly rude to be asking for money after all the crap that went wrong without checking the pane.
Good job we didn't pay as the replacement glass we got had a massive scratch on the inside of the double glazing to which we waited another 2 to 3 days for that replacement.
Finally almost 3 weeks from start date we was at 100% , the windows and doors look brilliant now and it was a definite improvement over how it was before we started. Ultimately when you spend this much money you just expect things to be perfect and right the first time. I can't help but think we could have saved a couple thousand pounds and got the same result if not better somewhere else. It's unfair to give any lower than a 3 and I can't find reason to give any more also.
So I would say use at your own peril but please please check the work over and over again. In 20 years time - if they last that long - I probably wouldn't use this company again unfortunately and I wouldn't recommend to a friend or family . Maybe we just got a bad wave of hiccups based on the other reviews but that's my personal opinion.
