New Windows in Sedbergh
OUR WINDOWS ARE MUCH MORE THAN “JUST A WINDOW!”
Replacing your windows can bring many benefits to your home, including enhanced energy efficiency, kerb appeal, comfort, and noise reduction, thereby improving both the aesthetics and functionality of your living space.
Having older, worn windows not only results in energy loss and increased utility expenses, but they can also detract from the comfort of your home. Poor insulation allows draughts to enter, resulting in cold air seeping in during winter and warm air escaping in summer. Upgrading to modern, energy-efficient windows can enhance the overall comfort of your living space while simultaneously lowering energy consumption and reducing monthly expenditures. Replacing your windows can also improve the overall look of your home. Windows play a vital role in defining the architectural style and personality of a house. By choosing windows that match the design and aesthetics of your home, you can greatly enhance its kerb appeal. Whether you prefer traditional, timeless windows or elegant, contemporary designs, there are plenty of choices to suit your taste and enhance the visual appeal of your property.
If you live in a noisy neighbourhood or near busy main roads, outdated windows may fail to adequately block external noise. Replacing them with new windows that incorporate sound-reducing features can make your home quieter and more peaceful. Enhanced noise reduction is particularly beneficial for bedrooms, home offices, and any space where you desire peace and the ability to focus.
When selecting a window style, it’s important to consider factors such as your home’s architectural style, you may want Victorian, Georgian, or flush casement windows. The amount of natural light desired should also be a factor, the intended functionality of the window, and of course, your personal taste. All of our windows are A+ as standard, contact us at Lancashire Double Glazing to find out more.
New Doors
UPVC & COMPOSITE FRONT, PATIO, BI-FOLD AND FRENCH DOORS
Upgrading to a new door comes with many benefits, including the possibility of better energy efficiency. Outdated doors tend to lack proper insulation, leading to heat escaping in the winter and entering in the summer. This not only results in discomfort but also increases energy costs. Contemporary exterior doors are crafted to provide top quality thermal insulation. They are made with cutting-edge materials and insulation techniques, effectively blocking heat transfer and keeping your home at a pleasant temperature all year round. By minimising heat loss, a new front door can lower your energy usage and cut down on heating and cooling bills.
Homeowners prioritise security and find peace of mind by installing new front and back doors. With the help of technological advancements, modern front doors come with robust locking systems and extra security features like multipoint locking mechanisms and reinforced frames. These enhancements make it significantly harder for potential intruders to break into your home. By choosing a top quality front or back door, you can ensure the safety of your home.
Installing energy-efficient front doors can not only reduce energy consumption but also contribute to environmental sustainability. By decreasing your carbon footprint, you can make a positive impact on the environment. Think about durability, maintenance, energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics when selecting the ideal material for your new door whether it be a composite door, patio, or stunning bi-folding doors.
Beautiful Conservatories in Sedbergh
RANGES AVAILABLE FOR UPVC CONSERVATORY AND ORANGERY ROOF SYSTEMS
A conservatory can fulfil a variety of needs by providing flexible additional living space that seamlessly connects your home to the outdoors. Whether used as an office, playroom, dining area, or relaxing space filled with natural light, a conservatory creates room tailored to your requirements while bringing your garden indoors. A conservatory not only provides practical living space, but also enhances your home’s aesthetic appeal. This versatile addition can be used in many ways, benefiting families of all sizes. Whether accommodating a growing family or creating space to spread out, a conservatory offers an excellent solution.
The flexibility of a conservatory enhances its value, allowing it to complement a home’s architecture while seamlessly expanding the living space into the outdoors. With a personalised design and layout, a conservatory can become a natural extension that integrates indoor and outdoor living spaces. A major benefit of a conservatory is the abundance of natural light that fills the interior, creating a bright and airy space ideal for relaxation. Large windows usher sunlight in, giving the conservatory a sun-drenched feel even on cloudy days.
Picture yourself savouring your morning coffee while soaking in the sun’s warmth, or entertaining dinner guests with the doors opening out onto your patio or garden. The flexibility of a conservatory enables it to be customised to your needs, morphing the space into a tranquil retreat, home gym, or entertainment hub. This adaptability makes a conservatory a distinctive and personalised enhancement to any home.
Whether it’s a Victorian or P-shaped style, a conservatory offers year-round enjoyment. With proper insulation and heating, it remains a comfortable and inviting space even during cold weather. The conservatory provides an extra room and beautiful views in every season.
Warm Roof System
WARM ROOF SYSTEMS
A conservatory with a glass or polycarbonate roof can become extremely hot in summer and very cold in winter. However, installing a well-insulated warm roof transforms the conservatory into a comfortable, energy-efficient space that remains functional year-round, regardless of the outside weather.
A warm roof is a smart choice for your conservatory, offering long-lasting durability and hassle-free maintenance. Made with weather-resistant materials and quality insulation, it eliminates the need for frequent cleaning, repairs, and replacements that are common with traditional conservatory roofs. The solid construction of a warm roof ensures that it can withstand the test of time with minimal upkeep, giving you peace of mind to fully enjoy your conservatory without any maintenance worries. Invest in a warm roof today and experience the benefits of a low-maintenance solution for your conservatory.
A warm roof not only enhances a conservatory’s energy efficiency but also provides added benefits in terms of comfort and sustainability. With its excellent insulation properties, it effectively prevents condensation, reducing the risk of dampness and mould growth. In winter, the warm roof efficiently traps heat, keeping the conservatory cosy and inviting, while in summer it helps to maintain a cool and pleasant environment. By opting for a warm roof conservatory, you not only enjoy a comfortable space all year round but also contribute towards lower energy costs and a reduced carbon footprint.
Extensions in Sedbergh
CREATE THAT DREAM LIVING SPACE IN YOUR HOME
Adding a home extension opens up possibilities to enrich your lifestyle and boost your home’s value. At Lancashire Double Glazing, we work with you and discuss what size and style would be your best option.
Adding a home extension can substantially increase your property value. The extra living space makes your home more attractive to potential buyers, allowing you to demand a higher sale price. A thoughtfully designed addition helps your home stand out in the market, giving you a competitive edge over similar properties. If you would like to stay where you are, but in need of extra space, extending your home is often a smart investment, as it provides more room without the hassle and expense of moving. By remodelling instead of relocating, you can relax and enjoy your larger home with your family.
Home extensions come in many shapes and sizes, each designed to meet different needs and preferences. A rear extension extends the back of your existing home, offering an excellent way to expand living space, enlarge the kitchen or dining area, or add a family room. Side extensions lengthen your home along one side, usually the ground floor. This addition can effectively increase overall living area or provide extra bedrooms, utility rooms, a separate entrance, or an attached garage. For substantial extra space, a wraparound extension combines rear and side additions. This flexible design accommodates multi-level extensions or multiple new rooms like bedrooms, bathrooms, or a home gym. Converting an existing loft into living space is a popular, cost-effective extension option. By remodelling unused loft space instead of altering the home’s footprint, you can add an extra bedroom, home office, or even a playroom. Contact us for further information.
Stunning Orangeries in Sedbergh
BESPOKE ORANGERIES
An orangery is a versatile and sophisticated addition that can improve both the functionality and appearance of a property. In contrast to a traditional conservatory, an orangery is constructed using more durable materials like brick or stone, and includes large windows and a glass roof. This design allows natural light to fill the space, creating a bright and open atmosphere. This extra living area can serve as a dining room, a home office, a playroom, or even a relaxation spot. Another popular reason for constructing an orangery is to establish a seamless link between indoor and outdoor areas. The expansive windows and glass roof not only bring in ample natural light but also provide stunning views of the surrounding scenery.
An orangery offers a sense of openness, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of your garden or outdoor area regardless of the weather. Moreover, it can enhance the value of a property. The unique architecture of an orangery significantly enhances the overall charm and desirability of a property. Potential buyers are often attracted to properties that offer something distinctive and exceptional, and an orangery certainly meets these criteria. As a result, this can lead to a higher resale value and a quicker sale compared to properties without this feature.
An orangery provides a versatile space that can accommodate various purposes. It can serve as a greenhouse for gardening enthusiasts, allowing them to cultivate plants and flowers all year round. Additionally, it can be used as an office, a study, a games room, or even a home gym. For those who love entertaining guests, an orangery featuring a generous dining area and bi-fold doors opening to a patio or garden would be perfect. This design promotes a seamless flow between the interior and exterior spaces, making hosting effortless.
Porches
ADD A PURPOSE-BUILT PORCH TO ENHANCE YOUR HOME AESTHETIC
With the interest in home security growing across Sedbergh and throughout Cumbria, it has prompted a greater number of homeowners to incorporate porches into their properties, aiming to enhance both protection and aesthetics. These purpose-built extensions not only offer security but also serve as stylish entryways. Homeowners have a range of porch options to choose from, such as flat, single or double hipped roofs, and tiled roofs with either full glass panels or decorative panels. Additionally, porches provide valuable additional space at both the front and rear entrances.
At Lancashire Double Glazing, we are extremely proud of our workmanship and we approach the construction of our porches with the same commitment and attention to detail as we do with our conservatories. We are able to create a porch that is tailored to your specific requirements, ensuring that it complements the overall look of your home.
Porches are built from various materials like wood, brick, and aluminium and can be open or enclosed, at the front or back of the house. Porches offer practical benefits like storage space and aesthetic appeal, with many styles available to suit different homes. Porches serve as a protective barrier at the entrance, creating a seamless transition between the interior and exterior spaces. These structures are commonly single-story extensions that can either stand alone or be connected to the house. The adaptable design and practicality of porches have made them a sought-after feature in numerous homes. Reach out to Lancashire Double Glazing for further information.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS
I had a very poor experience with Lancashire Double Glazing. I was sold what I was told were 60-minute fire-rated windows and was charged accordingly. I later discovered the windows installed were actually only 30-minute rated, which is completely unacceptable given the safety risks and the price.
When I raised the issue, the company tried to avoid taking responsibility and attempted to get out of putting things right. For something as important as fire safety, this behaviour is shocking.
Based on my experience, I would avoid this company at all costs. If you’ve already had fire windows fitted by them, I strongly recommend double-checking the ratings, as they may not be what you were sold or paid for.
I would particularly like to thank Steve for providing me with affordable quotes and Mark for his professional installation of our house doors.
I am very satisfied with the price, quality, and professional installation services provided.
There were a few glitches on the way especially navigating around my work commitment etc but it worked out in the end. The incorrect window was put in my back door but Owen sorted it out for me straight away.
John & Ethan did an excellent job installing the windows and John was brilliant with Ethan as his apprentice, very impressed
The salesman Kevin was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Also, As opposed to the many door/window sales that come knocking, it was very nice to walk round their showroom to see and feel the different window options (and ask lots of questions) rather than making a decision from a brochure.
Will defo use them again for future window fits.
Would highly recommend
Now im selling my house I realised I never received Fensa certificates, chased them. At first they said one lot hadnt been registered but it would be and I would receive the certificate shortly now they were registering it. When I said I didn't get a certificate for the other job they said I would have to buy one directly from Fensa, when I tried it turned out they hadn't registered that job either, why they claimed they had I dont know but it added a week on the hold up of getting a new EPC as I waited for them both.
Very pleased with the end product.
Carly and her team were first class from start to finish and I would highly recommend anyone to use this company for all there building and glazing needs. Top class service, thanks again Carly!
We would definitely recommend them to other people.
For reference I have built and converted homes for over 30 years now and never had these issues before.
I would fully recommend LDG to anyone.
Each window and door I needed was a different and bespoke size, and every one arrived on site and fitted perfectly, so much so that I am currently in the process of placing new orders with LDG for phase 2 of my build. Very competitively priced and also with a quick turnaround, they were delivered on time.
Highly recommended!
This is a simple 3m by 3.5m extension — two windows, a lantern skylight, and a set of double doors. We were told it would take a matter of weeks. Instead, we've had long periods with no one on site, poor communication throughout, and 3 months on there are still key elements left incomplete.
We're still waiting on:
Tiling to the exterior shell and steps.
Electrical issues (switches not working, spotlights incorrectly positioned).
Damage to the paintwork on the newly installed door and the door not shutting correctly.
Window and door frame finishing.
It has been up to us to chase subcontractors, manage timelines, and clean up after people — none of which we expected when paying a professional company to do a turnkey job.
I’m posting this review in the hope it spurs LDG into finally delivering on the project. We were promised a stress-free, quick build. It has been anything but.
Have used LDG for years, but their after sales service seems to be sadly lacking.
Had windows fitted no problems, but in less than a year one pane had failed, now here comes the comedy show of errors/not being bothered.
First engineer visit to assess fault- no show.
Second visit, faulty window measured and replacement confirmed.
Third visit, cancelled on day of appointment due to faulty replacement (days holiday taken)
Fourth visit, wrong sized window pane brought by fitter.( another days holiday taken)
Please reach out for a solution, starting to think that LDG couldn’t find organise a drinking session in a brewery.
Highly recommended
No high pressure sales technique just good advice and a good price,
Surveying done professionally, both John and Calum fitted the windows to a very good standard, turned up when they said they would and tidied up afterwards.
The plasterer and the sealer were pretty good also.
Would highly recommend LDG.
Signed up and paid deposit, salesman said doubted planning permission needed.
Then huge delay till go ahead.
Builders and fitters great.
Then all went wrong with plasterer that could not plaster!!
Totally ruined.
Then 2 guys came on separate occasions to rectify mistakes.
Still not great.
Cost us alot of money. For a botch job.
Then chased by manager ti pay final amount, No discount and slapped with extra £600,survey fee.
Our conservatory still not right.
Very sad, to put this review together.
THINK BEFORE YOU ORDER FROM
LANCASHIRE DOUBLE GLAZING.
SIMPLE CORDIAL BUSINESS TASK OF INFORMING -UPDATING A SICK PENSIONOR. THAT HE WILL BE HONOURED AND HAVE HIS INSTALLMENTS ON SCHEDULE . ABSOLUTE DISGUSTING ATTITUDE BY LDG.
Highly recommend
The installer Harry was just as professional. Arrived on time, got the job done in a timely manner and left the place clean after. All round great service and would recommend them to anyone asking about doors or windows.
The window fitters Paul and Lauren were excellent. Professional, friendly constantly keeping me in the loop of what they were doing on the day and making sure I agreed. They are an asset to the company. If you want windows/doors just go to the best and that really is LDG. Outstanding!!!
We asked for 30 min notification prior to turning up on three separate occasions and not once did that happen. One day they didn't turn up at all. Once installed they looked great from a distance but when you got closer it was a mess. I'd probably be hopeless at using silicone - but so was whoever did this one. I think 3 out of 6 windows needed silicone taking off and redoing. After the panelling was added and re silicone it did look so much better and they wasted no time in getting things sorted out once notified.
The welds on the frames are somewhat visible where the white has bled on the top of the grey. Most frames covered in transfer . Which all eventually can be filled in with a paint pen and the transfer can be rubbed off with a bit of elbow grease. They shouldn't really leave manufacturers before this is done but that's just my opinion. Some frames were scraped and scratched and handles scratched . These were flagged and these was rectified.
Workmen we're polite and friendly and very easy to get on with. They cleaned up after themselves every shift and worked hard to get things done.
The back door wouldn't lock at all. Had to leave completely unlocked overnight until someone could come and check it. Had to be readjusted and is now fine.
One of the panes of glass on the patio door 'shattered' during installation so we waited around 4 days after the installation was complete for a replacement. Once again no 30 min warning just turned up at the door. As soon as this piece of glass was fitted - like literally 2 whole minutes of leaving the house - the phone then rang from the office asking to settle the invoice . Which is completely and utterly rude to be asking for money after all the crap that went wrong without checking the pane.
Good job we didn't pay as the replacement glass we got had a massive scratch on the inside of the double glazing to which we waited another 2 to 3 days for that replacement.
Finally almost 3 weeks from start date we was at 100% , the windows and doors look brilliant now and it was a definite improvement over how it was before we started. Ultimately when you spend this much money you just expect things to be perfect and right the first time. I can't help but think we could have saved a couple thousand pounds and got the same result if not better somewhere else. It's unfair to give any lower than a 3 and I can't find reason to give any more also.
So I would say use at your own peril but please please check the work over and over again. In 20 years time - if they last that long - I probably wouldn't use this company again unfortunately and I wouldn't recommend to a friend or family . Maybe we just got a bad wave of hiccups based on the other reviews but that's my personal opinion.
