Dom delighted with city double glazing firm

If television trouble-shooter Dominic Littlewood turns up on your doorstep, the chances are most businesses would start to quake. But, for one Preston double glazing firm his appearance could beam their best practice across the country.

Lancashire Double Glazing, of Bold Street, Ashton, will hit the screens of the comic-turned-television presenter's show, Don't Get Done, Get Dom, where he shows a member of the public how to get the best deal.

The show is due to screen the visit of a company salesman Billy Roberts to a home in Wigan back in February on BBC1 in London tonight (Tues, June 17).

Company managing director Bill Forsyth said: "I have to admit our rep thought 'hang on, why are they doing this' to start with, we had done the deal and then Dominic and the film crew came out and explained what it was all about.

"He spoke to our sales guy and said he thought he had handled himself really well and said that he would recommend Lancashire Double Glazing.

"It is easy to knock the double glazing industry because there are so many companies that have gone bust and restarted the following day under another name, but we have built up a reputation over the last 20 years so it is nice to be noticed."

The show, now in its third series, sees a member of the public getting tutored on how to get a better deal on a product they are trying to buy with Littlewood communicating with them via an earpiece as they try to snatch a bargain.

Mr Forsyth said the company has now completed the refurbishment of the former Ashworth's Pies factory in Preston which it took over at the end of last year.

Its former premises on Lund Street in the city centre is now rented by Smart Storage.
