Dear Mr Forsyth

Re: Window and door installations by Lancashire Double Glazing

Thank you very much for a professional and well executed replacement window and door contract recently completed by yourselves.

The following comments identify the professional approach adopted by Lancashire Double Glazing relevant to the contract:-

  • your surveyor inspected our property and measured the replacement windows and doors accurately, explained to myself the window installers art and how the contract would proceed and was courteous and polite (even taking his shoes off when walking in the house).
  • the planning of the installation, the agreement of a contractual date to meet our requirements and all of the 'behind the scenes' activities including fabrication of the windows and doors was exceptional (my dearest husband did show me a few pointers when assessing pvc-u window frame manufacture and following my detailed inspection of all the units I cannot identify any errors).
  • the installation team comprising of Fran & Graham who arrived on Thursday 24th March, covered all of the relevant work area with dust sheets, made very little mess, cleaned up everything after they had finished for the day, were polite (not even a swear word when they did not know I was there), considerate and worked extremely hard on both days including the removal of the original structural bay window which was a nightmare for them (my dearest husband explained the problem succinctly - 'the removal of the bl..dy Everest bay window will be a real pain' and 'how the h..l did those two get those old windows out without damaging the wall tiling'.
  • Roger and Mark who arrived on Friday 25th March to install the bathroom window and rear door - again how did Mark get the bathroom windows out without any damage to the wall tiling?
  • Roger who installed to fit the new door and frame into an opening that had suffered in its life - it was not square (Roger explained 'out of square' and I know more now about out of square door openings than Tommy Walsh)
  • the inspection by Geoff Kirkbride of the work in progress identified a 'quality' commitment to a customer by management and his detailed inspections identifying 'faults' which I had not even seen.

I would also like to apologise to Fran and Graham for the poor state of the cream cakes (a job lot very cheap as they were well out of fresh by date) - Fran in particular who suffered an attack of nausea after having consumed his third cream cake of the day (I believe he ate Graham's cake as well as his own).

Finally, many thanks to all concerned - I am dusting the door and windows now and they are marvellous.

Yours gratefully.

P. Mathams

PS. I do hope Fran is recovering well from his nausea attack.
